Card mechanic · Automatic Foresight revive

How Lazarus revives you in Shroom and Gloom

You chose the Lazarus Foresight, died, and either missed the revive animation or thought the card failed.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Lazarus is automatic—you never play it from your hand. The first time lethal damage would kill you, Lazarus destroys itself, restores you to 50% of maximum HP, and the current Demo starts a new turn with a fresh hand. It is a one-use safety net, not a permanent extra life every fight.

REVIVE CHECK

Let the passive trigger, then stabilize.

  1. Choose Lazarus from a Foresight reward and confirm it appears in the smaller passive Foresight deck, not the Explore or Combat hand.

  2. Play normally. Do not wait to draw or cast Lazarus; its trigger watches for the first lethal hit automatically.

  3. When lethal damage lands, look for Lazarus to disappear from the Foresight deck while your health returns to half of maximum.

  4. Use the fresh hand on the new turn to stabilize immediately. The revive prevents that death, but it does not cancel the rest of the fight or refill Lazarus.

  5. If the normal death screen appears with no half-health recovery, record the Demo build and report it as a bug. Older versions had unclear feedback and a reported zero-HP revival issue before the current fix.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Instead of ending the run, Lazarus is consumed, your HP returns to 50% of maximum, and you begin a new turn with a newly drawn hand. A second lethal hit can end the run because the Foresight is gone.

VERSION BOUNDARY

The current Demo Foresight record, Team Lazerbeam's 0.4.71 patch notes, and two direct developer replies agree on the automatic one-use revive. Early Access may change its tier, acquisition, feedback, or numbers, but this answer is complete for Demo build 23718635.

What it does
If lethal damage would kill you, Lazarus destroys itself and restores you to 50% of maximum HP instead.
How you get it
The current Demo database lists Lazarus as a Tier 1 Foresight. It can appear in Foresight rewards, but no source proves a guaranteed offer in a particular run.
Use it with
Treat it as one automatic recovery, then use the fresh hand on the new turn to stabilize. Once Lazarus is destroyed, a later lethal hit can still end the run.
