OLDER DEMO FLOW
Identify the build before following the Gift.
First identify the build. If the post-run Gift choice is absent in the June 2026 new Demo, stop: the older instructions below do not prove that anything is broken.
In the older documented flow, beat the Demo boss and continue through the Gloom door sequence. The persistent reward was chosen after the run rather than from a normal Combat or Explore reward.
At the older Gift From Below choice, select one Foresight acquired during that run. The developer described that choice as adding the card to a starting pool; the sources show no second equip confirmation.
On a later run in that older flow, inspect a Foresight chest rather than either normal starting hand. Players reported unlocked Gifts appearing among later chest choices.
Do not transfer the old route, chest odds, or persistence promise to the current Demo or Early Access until the complete flow is reproduced in that build.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
You stop mixing builds: either the current Demo exposes no post-run meta-progression, or an older build reaches the documented Gift-to-pool-to-chest sequence. Neither result is treated as proof about Early Access.
VERSION BOUNDARY
Partial version-history answer. The developer reply and older player reports establish a former pool-to-chest route, while June 2026 new-Demo players report no meta-progression. This site has not reproduced either complete flow in Demo build 23718635, and no source documents chest odds or a first-offer guarantee. Early Access launched September 10 and still needs a fresh check; keep this guide as a historical lead.

Foresight / Passive
Lazarus
- What it does
- If lethal damage would kill you, Lazarus destroys itself and restores you to 50% of maximum HP instead.
- How you get it
- The current Demo database lists Lazarus as a Tier 1 Foresight. It can appear in Foresight rewards, but no source proves a guaranteed offer in a particular run.
- Use it with
- Treat it as one automatic recovery, then use the fresh hand on the new turn to stabilize. Once Lazarus is destroyed, a later lethal hit can still end the run.
