How to use unlocked cards after a run

You beat the demo, chose a reward, and cannot find a way to equip it.

THE SHORT ANSWER

You do not equip that reward directly. In the documented Demo flow, the Foresight you choose after the Gloom door is added to a saved starting pool; players report that unlocked Foresights can then appear in Foresight chests on later runs. Existing sources do not show a separate loadout screen or guarantee when one particular Foresight will appear.

QUICK FIELD CHECK

Follow the unlock without looking for an equip screen.

The evidence supports a pool-to-chest flow. It does not document chest odds, a guaranteed first offer, or the current launch-build behavior.

Run-ending choice
What changesAt Gift From Below, select one Foresight acquired during that run.
What to expectThe developer describes that choice as adding the Foresight to a starting pool.
Next run starts
What changesExisting sources show no separate equip or loadout step.
What to expectDo not expect the Foresight in the Explore or Combat starting hand; Foresight is a separate card type.
Foresight chest
What changesOpen the chest and inspect its Foresight choice.
What to expectPlayers report unlocked Foresights appearing here on later runs.
First chest misses it
What changesThe sources do not promise the selected Foresight in the first chest.
What to expectOne miss alone cannot prove the unlock was erased or confirm how chest selection works.

UNLOCK PATH

Follow the Gift into a later chest.

  1. Beat the Demo boss and continue through the Gloom door sequence. The persistent reward is chosen after the run rather than from a normal combat or Explore reward.

  2. At the Gift From Below choice, select one Foresight you acquired during the run. The developer describes that choice as adding the card to a starting pool; the available sources do not show a second equip confirmation.

  3. Start another run. Do not look for the unlocked Foresight in either normal starting hand: NiaMeowDB records Foresight as a separate passive card type, while players describe the unlocked card as saved for later runs.

  4. Reach and open a Foresight chest, then inspect its choice. The current room record says this chest gives a Foresight from the draft, and players report seeing unlocked Gifts there on later runs.

  5. If the chosen Foresight is absent from the first chest, do not claim either success or failure from that observation alone. None of the current sources publishes the selection odds, a first-chest guarantee, or a deterministic offer rule.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

If a later Foresight chest offers the same card, that confirms the saved pool can feed the chest. If it does not appear, these sources alone cannot distinguish chest selection from a failed unlock.

VERSION BOUNDARY

Partial older-Demo answer. The developer reply and player reports establish the pool-to-chest route, but this site has not reproduced the complete flow in Demo build 23718635 and no source documents chest odds or a first-offer guarantee. Early Access launches September 10 and may replace the progression flow; keep this page noindex until the launch build is rechecked.

Ability text is tied to the recorded Demo build. “How you get it” stays cautious where a packaged shop value does not prove a guaranteed reward.

Lazarus

Automatic · one use
What it does
If lethal damage would kill you, Lazarus destroys itself and restores you to 50% of maximum HP instead.
How you get it
The current Demo database lists Lazarus as a Tier 1 Foresight. It can appear in Foresight rewards, but no source proves a guaranteed offer in a particular run.
Use it with
Treat it as one automatic recovery, then use the fresh hand on the new turn to stabilize. Once Lazarus is destroyed, a later lethal hit can still end the run.
